Following last month’s website relaunch, I’m excited to announce the official return of the Liberty Seeds monthly newsletter!

Below, you’ll find a few recent highlights, along with upcoming events, opportunities, and jobs. But first, a few ways you can help us grow:

Individuals: Create Your Free Account

If you haven’t already, create your free Liberty Seeds account and become part of our growing community.

Free accounts come with a number of perks, including the ability to follow organizations, add events to your calendar, and create a public-facing profile in our Community, featuring your photo, bio, job affiliations, social media links, and your own “Why Liberty Matters” testimonial.

If you’d like to do a little more to support what we’re building, consider upgrading to a Supporter membership ($5/month) or Founders Club membership ($25/month).

Paid memberships are numbered in order of creation and receive higher placement within the Liberty Seeds community. Founders Club members also get the opportunity to help shape the future of the platform through quarterly calls where we discuss our roadmap and hear your feedback, ideas, and requests.

Nonprofit Employees: Post Your Content for Free

If you work at one of the 400+ organizations featured in our Nonprofit Directory, you and your teammates can now connect your organization to your individual Liberty Seeds accounts, toggle between the two, and post unlimited events, opportunities, and jobs at NO COST.

Our goal from the beginning has been to build the most comprehensive directory of liberty-minded events and opportunities. Now, the people creating those events can help keep the directory up to date themselves.

Business Owners: Add Your Business for Free

We’re also starting to build a Directory of Businesses and side hustles that serve the Liberty Movement.

Whether you’re a freelance graphic designer, run a marketing agency, or sell products, we want to help showcase what you do and connect you with others throughout the Liberty Movement.

FreedomFest 2026 - Think Independent 

FreedomFest returned to Las Vegas July 8–11 at Caesars Forum under the banner “Think Independent,” celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. More than 2,500 free minds were gathered for four days of hearing and debating ideas, networking, investment insights, and the Anthem Libertarian Film Festival. The debate topics were spicy and included a mock trial of ICE, Capitalism vs. Socialism, the positives and negatives of technology, and even free will. The guest list was packed with star talent, including Senator Rand Paul, Spike Cohen, Matt Kibbe, Steve Forbes, and many others. 

Freedom Award

This year’s Freedom Award went to Chris Rufer, founder and owner of The Morning Star Company, the world’s largest tomato processor. Starting in 1970 with a single truck hauling tomatoes in California’s Central Valley, Rufer built a highly successful enterprise famous for its radical “Mission Focused Self-Management” model: no traditional bosses and a culture of peer-based accountability and voluntary cooperation among colleagues.

Rufer received the award for embodying liberty in action - proving that free people, left free to organize around a shared ultimate mission, can and do outperform top-down hierarchies while treating one another with genuine human respect. The evening culminated in the traditional FreedomFest ball - with a twist! Attendees wore Colonial-period attire to celebrate 250 years of independence, and capped off the week’s festivities with lively dancing and a hearty toast to the next 250 years of the great American Experiment.

Anthem Film Festival

The Anthem Film Festival featured dozens of incredible films this year, including The Art of Inflation, directed by Tim Hedberg of Motivo Media and Brett Wietecha, which took home the award for Best Cinematography! 🎬🏆

FreedomFest 2027 - Save the Date!

YALCON 2026 

Our good friends at Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) just hosted their Seventeenth annual YAL National Convention (YALCON) July 28–30 at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. The invitation-only gathering brought together top student activists, mission-aligned legislators, and a lineup of liberty leaders for intensive training, keynote addresses, breakout sessions, and networking. Speakers included pro-gun Youtuber and Congressional candidate Brandon Herrera, Knox County, TN Mayor Glenn ‘Kane’ Jacobs, noted libertarian historian Tom Woods, former Congressman Justin Amash, and many more. The theme of the event was straightforward: putting the ideas of liberty into tangible action to build and strengthen coalitions, pass pro-liberty legislation, and win the battle of ideas for the next generation. 

What stands out about YAL is the work that its student activists do every day on campuses and in state capitals; organizing, recruiting, educating, and fighting for free speech, fiscal responsibility, and limited government nationwide. They are putting in the hard, unglamorous work on the ground that makes liberty win, not just in the hearts and minds of the public, but in the halls of power as well. The future is brighter thanks to their hard work.

Celebrating 40 Years of Mises University

A brief note of celebration: Last month (July 19–25 in Auburn), Mises University marked its 40th anniversary. As the Mises Institute’s flagship student program, it continues to both introduce inquiring minds to Austrian economics in the Misesan classical liberal tradition, and also to deepen the understanding of those already on the path. For four decades, MisesU has offered a clear-eyed alternative to the grave fallacies found in most modern economics textbooks. MisesU alumni often carry the insights gained during that exhaustive week into successful careers in constitutional law, public policy, politics, entrepreneurship, and of course, economics—some even returning decades later as faculty to teach at Mises University themselves!

Grow4Liberty Becomes Kilimo Corps Africa

One of the most inspiring stories emerging from the Students For Liberty network this year is the remarkable evolution of Grow4Liberty. What started as an SFL Impact Project centered on youth entrepreneurship and food security has grown far beyond its original scope, and has grown into Kilimo Corps Africa, a new, fully independent organization dedicated to advancing agricultural innovation and creating opportunity for young people across the entirety of the African continent.

This project is a living example of what happens when liberty-minded young people are given the space and support to solve real problems in their own backyards, and then scale those solutions far beyond what anyone first imagined. Today, Kilimo Corps is giving Africans real-world skills, pathways into enterprise, and the belief that they need to transform promising entrepreneurial ideas into real-time business success. We extend a huge congratulations to everyone involved!
